Announcing Editors Canada’s newest twig

It’s a done deal: the Newfoundland & Labrador twig and the Nova Scotia twig have officially merged into the Atlantic twig, or Editors Atlantic. We are 64 members strong, representative of Editors Canada members in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland & Labrador.

Twenty-one people attended our first joint meeting by Zoom on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

We have three co-chairs: Sandy Newton (Cupids, NL) and Molly Rookwood and Margo Grant (both Halifax, NS). Our new email address is

At present, the two former twigs each maintain websites connected to the Editors Canada site. It will take some time to create a new Editors Atlantic website that combines the information of both twigs, so until then we’re retaining our separate websites.

In addition to the NS twig’s Find an Editor page, the link to Newfoundland & Labrador’s Hire an NL Editor page is here.

Zoom eliminates distance, enabling our far-flung members to easily meet, and we will do this for formal meetings such as AGMs. Our smaller sub-groups, such as the Wolfville Editors’ Bunch, will continue to meet on an informal basis, either via Zoom or in person.

We have a new email address!

Hi folks!
We finally got our email sorted out: we’re now (and hopefully forever)
Those of you who are registered members of the twig should have received an email with a link for a Doodle poll to choose the time for our next meeting, as we’ve decided (following your input) that holding a social during the national conference is not optimal.
If you did not receive the email but think you should be on our list of registered members, send us an email at
We hope to see you all at our twig social, and for those of you attending the conference, we hope you have a great experience!
