Meet and mingle with your fellow editors. Editors Nova Scotia invites all those interested—members, lapsed members and non-members alike—to attend this annual general meeting. We’ll be discussing the events of the past year and what’s coming up, and soliciting your ideas, comments and suggestions. And we’ll be drawing for a door prize: a free Editors Canada recorded webinar. Those who can’t make it in-person are invited to join us virtually. (Yes, we have the power!) Editors Nova Scotia’s 2018 annual general meeting was held Saturday, April 28 in Halifax, with 12 members in attendance.
Co-ordinator and Chair Alex Peace opened the meeting with introductions all around, followed by presentation of the financial statements, membership updates, announcements, and a shout-out to volunteers Julia Cochrane, Tim Covell, Anne Curry, Shelley Egan, Margo Grant, Martha Hickman-Hild, Fazeela Jiwa, Patricia MacDonald, Tiffany MacDonald, Valerie Mansour, Alexandra Peace, Paula Sarson, Alex Schofield, and Jamie Serran. As thanks, these volunteers were invited to attend the Atlantic Book Awards gala held on May 10, 2018.

Come on out and we’ll reflect on the accomplishments of the past year, look forward to next year, and elect the new co-coordinators. We will address any concerns, hear your suggestions on what you’d like to see from Editors Nova Scotia, talk about upcoming events, and then go for dinner nearby.

After the AGM, we will head over to Heartwood Hydrostone at 3061 Gottingen Street. Editors Nova Scotia will provide nibblies, but you’re on your own for drinks and dinner.
